Questions
Q: Why is the performance as of date not up to date?
A: The performance numbers in Salesforce are synced from the Performance Overview app in Orion Connect. When the full sync runs each morning, the previous day’s performance calculations have not yet updated so you’ll see performance in Salesforce is 2 business days prior.
Q: We have workflows set up in Salesforce to start new clients as a lead then convert to an opportunity which automatically creates the household record. When Orion creates new households in SF will it create a duplicate record?
A: Orion households link to Salesforce Account records using the Orion Household ID. If a new household is created in Orion and that Orion Household ID is not populated on your existing Salesforce Account record, then our sync will create a duplicate record. We do have the option to turn off the automatic sync from Orion to Salesforce for new households which would then allow you to add the Orion Household ID to your existing record and prevent the duplicate record.
Q:Is there an advantage to purchasing from Orion instead of SF?
A: If you purchase Salesforce licenses through Orion, then you’ll receive your invoices from Orion and will not receive separate invoices from Salesforce. Also, you’ll have access to the Orion Salesforce Support team for basic Salesforce items that you need assistance with.
Q: If we already have the Enterprise Edition, would we need to get a whole different app if we wanted to move into the Financial Services Cloud?
A: Yes, Orion has a separate app for Financial Services Cloud and that would need to be installed from the App Exchange. A data migration will also need to take place as the structure of Financial Services Cloud is different.
Q: Is it possible to create syncing fields between Salesforce and Orion that aren’t preexisting in the current mapping?
A: We do have a Custom Field Sync that allows Salesforce users to map custom Orion fields to custom Salesforce fields. This requires a separate installation for this functionality and the sync is 1-way from Orion to Salesforce. We have information about this available at https://social0.wpengine.com/orion-docs/salesforce-integration-custom-field-sync/
Q: Some of our clients have multiple households in Orion. How would that integrate with Salesforce?
A: Multiple households in Orion will create multiple households in Salesforce. It’s a 1-to-1 relationship.
Q: Is the Enterprise App Lightning Ready, even without the Financial Services Cloud?
A: The Enterprise App is not officially Lightning Ready but Orion is working toward that. You can use Lightning in conjunction with Orion Connect but the Orion Links on the Household and Financial Account objects will not work until changes are rolled out by Orion.
Q: We have Financial Accounts fed directly from TDAI & from Charles Schwab OpenView Gateway, if we link up Orion will it be a separate Financial Accounts Field or will we end up duplicating all our data?
A: Orion syncs financial accounts to our custom object so any data you’re getting from TD or Schwab as well would be duplicated in Salesforce.
Q: If I’m just setting up a fresh Salesforce. Should I turn on the Orion app first to port of my data and merge in my other CRM data, or migrate my other CRM data first, then turn on the Orion app?
A: We generally recommend that Orion create the households and financial accounts first and then have CRM data migrated after the fact. You can do the migration first, but then you’ll have to match the Orion households to the Salesforce Account records and add the Orion Household IDs to prevent duplicate records.
Q: What’s the difference between the Orion Connect SF App and the Orion Connect for Financial Services Cloud SF App? How would I know which one I should choose?
A: The Orion integration is basically the same for each. The difference is on the Salesforce side with the benefits of FSC that they’ve built. They can explain those benefits to you if you contact Salesforce directly.
Q: What are the costs purchasing directly from Salesforce compared to purchasing from Orion?
A: If you go through Orion, the cost for the Salesforce license is $25 per user per month and $25 per user per month for the Orion Connect license. If you purchase directly from SF, you would pay the license cost to Salesforce (depending on the type of license) and the $25 per user per month for the Orion Connect license.
