We have been using a large office scanner, and a Kodak capture software to Scan all of our incoming paperwork. Then we append each scan to existing .pdf documents for each client. These are then stored on a local server, and additionally, uploaded into Salesforce for each household ID. The process is slow, and we have been looking into alternative processes such as CCScan, which uses barcodes and uploads directly into salesforce. However this process is complicated to setup. Thought I would reach out and see what others are using, and how their system is working for them.

This is a great question – we would love to learn more about these points and if there is a tool/platform that many advisors are using. If there is a way that Orion could integrate with a tool like this to really gain you efficiency and accuracy, please let us know.

We have explored a few intelligent vault platforms that are suppose to help scan, identify, and categorize documents for easy organization – but none really jump out to us as a fore-runner that Advisors are using. Also, we haven’t gotten clear feedback on how or if Orion should be the driver of this solution through integration, since we typically only interact with the document that is your statements – not the hundreds of other documents you manage.

Let’s us know if you have any ideas on how we can help. We would love to hear from the other Advisors out there.

We have several scanners that can take multiple page docs and OCR’d. That is automatically saved to one cloud drive for collection, where they are reviewed and tagged, and then moved to the client’s online storage (box.com). Box is then available in the client’s household record in Salesforce. Not sure how to “automate” this.
