Bob LloydParticipantDon’t know if this was what did it or not, but I upgraded my OS and all worked this afternoon. It’s intuitive to use and works well on my iPad. Easy to get through the reports, apply the filters and move along. I agree that we aren’t likely to use Trends too much in the mobile environment. But it’s good progress and may be something I work into my firm strategy reviews.
Thanks

Bob LloydParticipantI’m having issues logging into the app. When I start the app, I get a blank screen with “Done” in the lower left and right/left arrows on the lower right. I’m assuming this is a configuration issue. I never provided my credentials.

Bob LloydParticipantWe have several scanners that can take multiple page docs and OCR’d. That is automatically saved to one cloud drive for collection, where they are reviewed and tagged, and then moved to the client’s online storage (box.com). Box is then available in the client’s household record in Salesforce. Not sure how to “automate” this.

Bob LloydParticipantWe don’t currently use it, but I would like to. I agree the activity summary customization would be critical for us as well. We also would need to have a fee breakdown if we want to completely replace the PDF quarterly.
Are there any compliance concerns about using this as a report since it can not be stored?
Thanks

Bob LloydParticipantBlake–
That’s a big one. We try to have our report be thorough without being terribly long. We don’t include transaction details as the customer can get that from the portal and/or custodian if they are interested. Positions are also limited. We do utilize reporting at the Household level and have almost the exact same set of details for each account that makes up the household. We don’t use Registration level, but I’ve often thought about that. Our goal is to continue our narrative with the client. We emphasize a few things as part of our discovery and onboarding processes. The report then helps us reinforce those items and show how we are meeting the expectations or what items we may need to adjust to hit the client’s goals.
Things we include: Activity Summary, Assets over time, asset categories, performance over time and different periods (these are not the names of the sub-reports, but you get the idea I think).
We have started to utilize different versions of the report for assignment to specific accounts. But that’s not all the way implemented yet.
If you are going to the Ascent Conference, I would be happy to have a cup of coffee and go into more detail with you.

Bob LloydParticipantWe opted to build our own workflow engine to help with different task creation and assignments. It’s a beast, but has proved helpful. I would like to have better integration with outside systems to move data elements, but that requires an API expert and we just don’t have that person on staff, yet. Some things we concentrate on when building:
1) Make it flexible. We stayed away from using the Salesforce standard “Tasks” feature that creates tasks given defined criteria. That was due to any change in the middle of the flow could mean all subsequent tasks needing to be updated one by one. But the engine does create Tasks that get assigned to users based on their role in the different teams.
2) Have it apply to several different hierarchical levels. Some items are at the Household, others at the contact, and some are even financial account specific. This can make assignment hard at the task creation level, but it pays off in the end so the user isn’t assigned duplicate tasks when doing something at a higher level (ex. send DocuSign is at the household level, but all of the financial accounts that are being opened are included in that envelope. We assign 1 task to the user and they can see all of the accounts that need to be included by clicking through.)
3) We should have used Cases, as Brad mentioned. Instead we created our own custom objects and logical constructs for this. We have it on our roadmap to update to move to Cases. That’s a pretty heavy change.
4) We got REALLY comfortable with “visual flow” and now Process Builder. If I remember correctly, those items come with certain levels of Salesforce. It’s worth the cost.Best of luck.
